From the Associate Dean for Research

Welcome Terri Mancini
I am delighted to welcome Terri Mancini as our new Director of Research Administration. Terri brings a wealth of experience to CPH from within and outside of Mason. She spent 16 years heading research administration in the College of Engineering and Computing and 4 years in the Office of Sponsored Programs. Prior to joining Mason, she was at Georgetown University. Terri will help lead the pre-award and post-award team members and support a variety of strategic initiatives in the Office of Research. She sits in the Dean's Suite in office 5413.
Terri has also shared a fun fact about herself. She is a member of the Mason Cat Coalition, a group that feeds and cares for homeless cats on campus. In case you are wondering, all campus cats have been adopted, but they recently found an abandoned kitten in a campus building that was under construction. After checking to make sure she wasn’t someone’s lost pet, the kitten was adopted out to a Mason employee.
Welcome, Terri!

ECHO Update
The Mason ECHO team has again received the second cycle of the seven-year funding award at $1.7 million a year from the ECHO consortium headed by Dr. Rosalind Wright at Mt Sinai School of Medicine. The Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) study is a national collaborative research design comprising 69 cohorts of team scientists funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in 2016 to improve children’s health in the United States. The mission of the ECHO Program is “To enhance the health of children for generations to come.” Our Mason ECHO team, under the leadership of Dr. Kathi Huddleston (Nursing PhD ‘08), has over 1,500 children enrolled in the ECHO protocol and the ECHO program has data from over 60,500 children in 48 states and D.C. Learn more about ECHO here.
