The Carnegie Project on Education Doctorate (CPED) recognized Dr. Cheyenne E. Batista â22 as the 2022 CPED Dissertation in Practice of the Year award winner. Completing her doctorate in education in educational policy and leadership in May and now an adjunct professorial lecturer in the School of Education, her dissertation was titled ââI Am Not Scary. I Am Strong. Thereâs a Difference.â Disrupting Misogynoir and Transforming Interpersonal Conflict for Black Women Education Leaders: A Multiple Case Study.âÂ

Institute for Antiracist Teachers, a professional learning opportunity for teachers seeking to create more equitable, inclusive, and just classrooms. This virtual, four-day institute held on Saturday mornings brings together P-12 teachers to develop essential dispositions and sharpen pedagogical skills when teaching from an antiracist perspective and mindset.

Emma LaPrade is the new Graduate Program Coordinator for SOE's online master's in Education, Policy, and Leadership program. "My responsibilities include advising current and prospective students, planning and facilitating events, and assisting with admissions procedures. I am from Buffalo, New York, and I have a master's degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Buffalo. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, traveling, and going to concerts."

Community-Based Heritage Language Schools Event Was a Success

Nearly 200 members of the language schools community gathered, on campus and virtually, in October around the topic of "The Power of Sustainability and Multilingualism."
