Commit to growing your faith as you journey through Advent and Christmas.
You are invited to take some time during the busyness of this season to rest in the presence of God. The worship center will be open from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday through Friday beginning Monday, December 1 through Wednesday, December 24. Prayer guides will be available. We hope you can find a day and time that will work for you.
Then, pick up our "Christmas Is" devotional prepared by Parkway Hills' clergy and members. This devotional will take you through the twelve days of Christmas as we reflect together on this sacred season within the life of our faith. Devotionals will be available for pickup in the worship center and the office beginning Sunday, December 14.

Join your church family in preparing our hearts for Christmas this Advent by participating in a 3 week study using Walter Brueggemann's book, Names for the Messiah. In Isaiah 9:6, a divine utterance is given to us using four royal titles - Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. We will reflect on each title and how the people understood it then, how Jesus did or did not fulfill the title, and how Christians interpret Jesus as representative of that title. We will meet in the Open Doors room, Room 201 upstairs Ed Building, Thursday, December 4, 11, and 18 at 10:00 am.

Help us provide a welcoming and meaningful worship experience this Christmas season at Parkway Hills. Your presence is part of how we share and celebrate the story of Emmanuel, God with us, with those who will gather in worship with us.
We need greeters, ushers, communion servers, and candle lighters for our 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm Christmas Eve services as well as readers for our December 28 Carols and Lessons. PHUMC Women's Ministry has chosen MadCAAP's Holiday Adopt a Child for their Christmas mission. Every year MadCAAP aids with Christmas presents for children whose parents have completed 12 hours of an educational program provided by MadCAAP. This year they had nearly 600 children eligible. We have 24 names on the tree. To help, pick an envelope off the tree in the back of the worship center. It includes directions and the information of the child.
Deliver your wrapped, labeled gifts to MadCAAP Wednesday, December 17: 9:00-3:00; Thursday, December 18: 9:00-4:00, Friday, Decmeber 19: 9:00-3:00 or Saturday, December 20: 9:00-Noon. If you need assistance getting your gifts to MadCAAP, let Pastor Dawn know.

Join the women of Parkway Hills for an ornament swap. Bring a sweet or salty snack to share and a wrapped ornament to swap on Wednesday, December 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Evans home located at 2024 Silver Lane, Madison. Text or email Marley Evans to let her know you are coming.

Calling all PHUMC College Students!
Parents, let your college student know about our Christmas College Student Catch-up Sunday, December 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 at 3159 West Tidewater Lane in Madison. Let Jennifer Heath know if you plan to attend. Not in college but want to visit with our college students? Come on! Just let Jennifer know so she can adequately prepare.

| Children are excited about PHUMC plans for Christmas! Join them in celebrating this special time of year. Ask Jennifer how you can be a part.
Sunday, December 7: Parents and kids meet in the worship center at 9:30 am to practice for the service. Then, join us back in the Garden Room that evening 5:10 to 6:40 for our Christmas party. Parents must stay. Choir parents are excused.
Sunday, December 21: Happy Birthday Jesus Party in the Garden Room during Sunday School.
No Kids Sunday School Sunday, December 28. Join us at 10:45 for Carols and Lessons, doughnuts and coffee.
We always need volunteers to aid with our kids' ministry. For more information about any of our kids' ministry events contact Jennifer.

Bridge Christmas Party Sunday, December 7 at the Pruett home; 803 Farwell Boulevard. Drop off at 5:00 pm, then we will shuttle your Bridge kids to Parkway Hills at 6:40 for pickup to meet parents who have littles at the Kids Christmas party in the Garden Room. Bridge kids bring a wrapped pair of crazy socks for a dirty santa swap!
We will have to cancel our Saturday, December 13 community service day at MS Food Network. We will try and reschedule for another month.
No Bridge Sunday School Sunday, December 28. Join us at 10:45 for Carols and Lessons, doughnuts and coffee.
Sunday, January 25: Sunday Night Bridge 5:30 to 7:30. Meet in the Bridge room at 5:30 for food, faith development, and fun. Great night to bring a friend.
