Last Minute Invitation:

Join us at Malco Grandview Cinema tomorrow night, (Thursday, February 8) to see the movie "Origin." It is based on a book we read together as a church family, "Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents", by Isabel Wilkerson.
This powerful film grapples with some of the ways we continue to rank human value, separate people, and what keeps us divided. It will certainly raise more awareness of these issues, spark important questions we need to ask and begin conversations we need to have.
The movie starts at 7 pm. Meet us in front of Malco at 6:40 pm.
More Wednesday Night Opportunities: As part of our wisdom of scripture worship series, we want to provide space for conversation around questions you may have coming from scripture. Is there a story that has always stumped you?  Do you have something you have always wanted to ask? Well, here is your chance. Two of our Wednesday nights, Feb 21 and 28, will be devoted to conversation around your questions.
Please submit your questions HERE by Monday, February 19. Be sure to
• keep your questions specific to scripture passages, and
• reference the passage when you send in your question.
Our youth will join us both nights for scripture questions. Bridge may join us to build Beds for Kids February 21 and will have a game night February 28, and kids 4th and under will have an art night February 21 and drama night February 28.

Following our nights of scripture questions, we will have another chance to be in conversation. This time, reflecting on the book Inspired: Slaying Giants, Walking on Water, and Loving the Bible Again by Rachel Held-Evans. Purchase a book, begin reading, and join us Wednesday, March 6 for discussion.  Bridge and youth will build Beds for Kids and our kids 4th and under will have game night.

Don't miss our annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper! Join us for plenty of fun and fellowship, along with stacks of pancakes and all kinds of sides.

Both griddles and cooks are needed to make this evening a success. Contact Jean Dunn to let her know if you have a griddle we may borrow or if you're willing to don an apron and share your pancake flipping skills!

After celebrating the blessing of community we will begin our Lenten journey together the following day.
Please join us for a special Ash Wednesday Service at 6:00 pm Wednesday, February 14.

We are excited to partner with East Flora Elementary for their School Garden this Spring. We will need volunteers to assist with building raised garden beds, donating supplies, tools, and funding.

Contact Haven for more information on how to assist.

Giving Opportunity: Cheer on your team and bring a can (or a case!) of soup to donate to MadCAAP.
Donations will be collected through
Sunday, Feb. 11.
A display is set up in the foyer of the Worship Center. Drop your soup in your team's box for our friendly competition - but know that the real winner will be our community as we work with MadCAAP to feed our hungry neighbors!

Ministry Fair

There’s a place for YOU serving with Parkway Hills UMC! Last Wednesday night at our Ministry Fair we heard from MadCAAP, East Flora Elementary, and our Scouting ministry and also had a chance to get involved with booths from these great organizations as well as Beds For Kids, Big House Books, our Grace Place volunteers, our Quilters, our Yarners, our men’s and women’s ministries, Parkway Hills Youth Ministry, and PHUMC Kids. Contact our church office if you want more info on how to get involved serving our church and our community!

Join us in partnering with East Flora Elementary School on Friday, March 1st for Read Across America Day. Volunteers will visit classrooms of all ages and read books with very appreciative students.
This is always such a wonderful experience! Please Contact Haven to let her know you are available to read on this day.
