Prairie Park Nature Center Design Review & Open House

Prairie Park Nature Center is partnering with ArcD, the Lawrence Parks and Rec, Haskell University, and Native Lands Restoration Collaborative to design and build Human|Nature, an outdoor environmental classroom and event space at the Nature Center. As a nature lover, you are invited to review the preliminary design concepts and offer ideas and feedback, chat with other eco-minded folks, and enjoy refreshments provided by the Parks and Rec.

KU University Women's Club Scholarship 

The University Women’s Club Scholarship helps to financially assist academically meritorious undergraduate and graduate women students at The University of Kansas. In the past, multiple recipients have received scholarships ranging from $1,500 to $2,500. The number of recipients and dollar amounts vary from year to year. One-half of each scholarship will be credited to the recipient’s account per semester.

The AIA St. Louis Scholarship Fund provides several scholarship opportunities for students studying architecture at an NAAB accredited school of Architecture for third, fourth and fifth year and graduate work in their academic career.

Elizabeth Miller Watkins Memorial Scholarship Fund (first-time applicants)

The purpose of the Elizabeth Miller Watkins Scholarship is to assist women students of outstanding scholastic achievement and demonstrated financial need in completing their college education at KU. Awards of up to $2,000 per semester will be made to each recipient. Eligibility criteria are as follows: All women enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at the University of Kansas; 3.0 GPA or higher on 4.0 scale; and Demonstrated financial need.

Special consideration will be given to women who are first in their families to attend college and residents of Watkins and Miller Scholarship Halls.

Tile Contractors’ Association of America Architecture/Interior Design Scholarship

TCAA will award a $5,000 scholarship to a qualifying student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate level professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design.

🔻 First day of 50% tuition refund period: Saturday, January 27th  

🔻 Last day to withdraw/drop without a “W” grade: Monday, February 5th 

🔻 Last day to request an online petition to late enroll: Monday, February 5th 

🔻 Last day to withdraw/drop with a 50% refund: Monday, February 12th

🔻 Start Credit/No Credit: Tuesday, February 13th

🔻 0% refund begins: Tuesday, February 13th

Illustrated Black History is a breathtaking collection of original portraits depicting black heroes—both famous and unsung—who made their mark on activism, science, politics, business, medicine, technology, food, arts, entertainment, and more. Each entry includes a lush drawing or painting by artist George McCalman, along with an insightful essay summarizing the person’s life story.

Beautifully designed with over 300 unique four-color artworks and accessible to readers of all ages, this eye-opening, educational, dynamic, and timely compendium pays homage to Black Americans and their achievements, and showcases the depth and breadth of Black genius.

The Hatch Reading Room is here for you to de-stress, work on projects, take a break to read, and enjoy a quiet view of campus. Plenty of open tables, comfortable chairs, and of course, books, are waiting for you up on the 4th floor of Marvin from 9 am - 5 pm Monday - Friday. 📚
