Easy Chocolate Waffles
Recipe Courtesy of Suzie V Homemaker, as featured on Feed Me Vegan

Serves 4


2 cups flour
1 T sugar
1 T baking powder
1/4 t salt
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1 3/4 cups chocolate nondairy milk
2T ground flax seed
6 T water
2 T oil
1 cup nondairy chocolate chips

Topping ideas:
sliced strawberries
nondairy whipped cream
chocolate syrup
maple syrup
chopped nuts


Whisk together the flax seed and water, let sit while you prepare the rest.

Combine all dry ingredients, except chocolate chips. Add liquid ingredients and flax mixture and stir until combined. Fold in chocolate chips.

Pour about a cup of batter in preheated waffle iron. Cook until lightly browned. Top as you wish and enjoy!
