Friday, February 20, 2026 | 2pm-4pm

Join us for an afternoon of culture, celebration, and good fortune as we welcome the Lunar New Year. Enjoy festive décor, Volcano Cake, coffee, and jasmine tea, along with a special lion dance performance by the students of the Edmonton Kun Seng Keng dance troupe, featuring traditional drumming and a ceremonial scroll opening.

Learn about the tradition of red envelopes and take part by placing money into envelopes and feeding the lions during the performance — a meaningful gesture of appreciation that symbolizes prosperity, protection, and luck for the year ahead. Participation is optional.

Celebrate the Year of the Horse, a symbol of strength, energy, and forward momentum, and welcome good fortune together.

Friday, March 6, 2026 | 9:15am-12:00pm

Enjoy a morning of pampering from the M.E. LaZerte Cosmetology Students. Each registrant will get their hair and makeup done, and will receive a digital photograph to celebrate the day! Light refreshments will be served.

Please meet us at NESA at 8:45am. We’ll head out together by shared transportation around 9:00am to the school. The event runs from 9:15–11:45am, and we’ll return to NESA, arriving around 12:00pm.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with us at the Northgate Lions Recreation Centre! Cozy up with a warm beverage, or enjoy drinks from our cash bar, and treat yourself to delicious pistachio squares. Be delighted by lively performances from the talented dancers of the Knock School of Irish Dance, all while soaking in great company and festive cheer. Join us from 2–4pm for an afternoon of music, movement, and merriment you won’t want to miss!

Friday, March 27, 2026 | 5pm-9:30pm

One stage. Two pianos. An experience you’ll never forget! Enjoy a high-energy, all-request dueling piano show that will have you singing, laughing, and dancing in your seat. Featuring the Grand Dueling Piano Show, a world-class trio bringing your favourite songs to life—from classic rock to pop hits and everything in between.

Dinner includes Chicken Schnitzel, Scalloped Potatoes, Caesar & Greek salad, and Tiramisu, with coffee and tea included. Cash bar available.

Our new Member Social Space & Games Room is open and ready for you! It’s a welcoming place to meet with friends, play board & card games, and enjoy time together. Located in Room 207 and open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays from 9am-3:30pm.

Please bring clean indoor shoes for your fitness, dance, yoga, gymnasium, and fitness centre activities. This helps keep our floors clean, safe, and dry for everyone. We have a shoe and boot cleaner at the entrance to reduce outdoor debris brought into the building.

Did you know that NESA sells grocery gift cards for Sobeys, Safeway, and Save-On Foods? For every grocery card you buy from NESA, our senior's recreation centre earns a small percentage from each card sale. Those funds then go towards our various seniors fundraising initiatives at NESA.
