April Opportunity to Return to In-Person Learning
Deadline Tomorrow: Notify Your Elementary School if You Want to Change Learning Model
Families who elected to have their student(s) remain in the Distance Learning Academy have another opportunity to transition to in-person learning, but the deadline to notify your school is tomorrow, April 1. This will be the only additional opportunity for elementary students to switch to the in-person learning model this school year, and is dependent on having adequate space and staffing to accommodate additional students in-person.
Event Rescheduled
April 1 Story Circle Session to be Rescheduled
Unfortunately, we have had to postpone the April 1 Story Circle: Community Wellness Conversation. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to sharing with you what we have learned from parents, educators, and students in the near future. We will update you on the new date and time as soon as possible. We are dedicated to holding space for community members to share, listen, and reflect on their thoughts and feelings around the Chauvin trial.
We have created a Roseville Area Schools community Padlet to provide you with a place to anonymously share your thoughts and feelings until we can hold the Story Circle session.
Celebrating the Class of 2021
RAHS Class of 2021 Graduation Weekend to Include In-Person Events
The Roseville Area High School (RAHS) Class of 2021 will celebrate with a series of events over "Graduation Weekend," including three in-person commencement ceremonies in the RAHS stadium, where one-third of the graduating class will be able to celebrate safely at a time. Graduation practice will occur on the morning of Friday, June 4.
To kick off the weekend of merriment, RAHS will host a seniors-only celebration Friday from 6 – 8:30 p.m. filled with games, prizes and fun. This event will replace prom and the senior all-night party. On Saturday, June 5, commencement will be spread across three ceremonies at the RAHS stadium: students with last names starting A – I from 9 – 10 a.m., letters J – R from 11 a.m. – noon, and letters S – Z from 1 – 2 p.m.
We are excited to celebrate our seniors and their accomplishments!
We will share details soon about commencement plans for Fairview Alternative High School (FAHS) and the Adult Learning Center.
Finance Update
Did you Know?
For nearly two decades, state funding has not kept pace with inflation or increasing educational costs. In addition, critical special education programs cost the district nearly $10 million more than it receives each year from the state and federal governments, putting additional pressure on the district’s operating budget. And while the federal COVID relief dollars for schools will help cover pandemic-related costs, they are one-time funds and will not help with our long-term budget sustainability.
If state funding had kept pace with inflation since 2003, our school distric twould receive $503 more per student - or more than $4 million this year alone.

Congrats to the Edgerton SamsungSolve Team!
The Edgerton #SamsungSolve team was recognized as 2020 – 2021 Semi-Finalists in a contest that challenges students to show how STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) can be applied to help improve their communities.
The students won $15,000 worth of Samsung technology for their school. Out of the 75 teams picked, Edgerton Elementary was the only elementary school and the only school from Minnesota. The team believes they solved the problem of lost pets in America by developing a mobile device application. They will share their video in April when the next phase of the competition begins. Learn more about the contest.
