Remote Learning Day
Tuesday, January 21, 2025

Dear Fenwick Students and Families,

I hope everyone is staying safe and warm. As we continue to monitor the weather conditions, our primary concern remains the safety and well-being of our students and staff. Due to the forecasted subzero temperatures and extreme wind chill factors, we have decided to transition to eLearning for tomorrow, January 21, 2025.

Here are the important details regarding the transition to remote learning:

Date: January 21, 2025

Schedule: We will follow a regular Tuesday Late Start schedule using the “Late Start Bell Schedule.”

Communication Platforms: Teachers will post information about class expectations using Schoology by 8:00 a.m. Students need to check the “Update” feed for each of their courses’ expectations. Please reference the Remote/e-Learning Guidelines for students.

Attendance: Students are required to participate in our remote learning day as outlined by each of their classes. In the event a student will be “absent,” to be considered excused, a parent/guardian must report the student’s absences following our regular attendance policy.

Reporting an Absence
Each day of an absence, late arrival or early dismissal, a parent or guardian must call the school (708-386-0127 x 341) or send an email to attendance@fenwickfriars.com before 8:45 a.m. to report the absence and give the following information:

• Student’s full name and year in school
• Parent/Guardian’s full name
• A specific and fully stated reason
• Parent/Guardian daytime phone number

All athletic practices, clubs and activities have been canceled for tomorrow, Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Further updates regarding scheduled athletic games will be communicated as soon as possible.

Again, we appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we navigate these winter months and inclement weather circumstances, with safety at the forefront of our decision-making.

Sincerely,
Dr. John L. Finan
Principal
