A Message from the Director of Admissions
Dear Future Friar Families:
The question you may be asking is,
“Why Fenwick?”

My answer is, “The Environment.”

The Fenwick community impacts the environment of a child’s education and well-being. Clearly stated, the environment around a child influences the transformative outcome in many ways.

Fenwick is a premier college-preparatory high school guided by Dominican Catholic values. We give Chicago-area students a superior academic choice and empower them to grow intellectually, spiritually and emotionally in a proven environment.

We provide tools for all children to grow into leaders. It starts with our challenging core curriculum, strong academic standards, highly qualified teachers, involved parents, high attendance rates, thousands of alumni and mentors to provide guidance throughout the process.

When we hire teachers, we look for good role models, dedicated and empathic individuals, people of faith, and real-world practitioners such as lawyers, engineers, musicians, authors, artists and editors. We believe that having strong, motivated students supported by professional teachers allows our students to move seamlessly into college and beyond. Last year alone, our college counselors processed more than 2,300 college applications and our students are now attending schools in 31 different states, the District of Columbia, Scotland and Poland. The Fenwick Class of 2020 graduated five Chick Evans Scholars, contained 14 students recognized by the National Merit Board, and saw three-fourths of the class receive scholarships.

The next big step for any 8th-grade student is to sit for the Fenwick Entrance Exam on Saturday, December 5, 2020. Once you make Fenwick your number one priority, Fenwick will make you our number one priority. We will work on placement, transportation, merit-based scholarships and tuition assistance. Our school is committed to making sure we do all we can to help and assist each family along the process. If at any time you have questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office. We are here to help.

Please take a look at this newsletter for more information about the Fenwick Friars.

Warmest Regards,
Mr. Ori
