Reminders & Announcements |
Students declaring degree candidacy in 2026 are invited to participate in a ceremony based on their major. Step-by-step instructions on how to make a reservation, claim guest tickets, and pre-register a vehicle for a parking permit will be emailed to eligible students during spring quarter. Each graduate participating is allotted six guest tickets for family and friends. The deadline to make a Commencement reservation is May 18.

Tax Day is approaching and you may be searching for tax forms from UCSB. Your student can access a 1098-T form by following the instructions listed on the Business & Financial Services website. They will receive the form online, which can then be shared with parents as needed. UCSB student employees can access their W-2 forms online through the UCPath portal by navigating to Employee Actions > Income and Taxes > View Online W-2.

Move-out is a few months away, and we encourage your student to start planning now. Whether your student needs to find storage solutions or wants to donate items to a good cause, planning ahead helps reduce waste and stress at the end of the academic year. UCSB has partnered with Campus Storage and Storage Scholars to provide moving and storage services for UCSB students. Spots without storage partners fill up quickly, so reserve your space as soon as possible - some partners may even have early-bird discounts available.

UCSB’s Give Day is April 9! On Give Day, participation is the vision. Last year, UC Santa Barbara received over 3,700 gifts for its students, research and programs. Behind each gift is a proud member of our community. We are especially grateful for the parents and families who enhance every part of the UCSB experience for all students.

Resource of the Month: Summer Sessions at UC Santa Barbara |
Did you know that students who take classes during Summer Quarter are 30% more likely to graduate on time? Summer Sessions not only offers a suite of courses that fulfill major and general education requirements, but also provides summer-only opportunities, such as creating an original environmental documentary through the Coastal Media Project, exploring interdisciplinary courses offered by the Arnhold Initiative, or gaining real- world experience through field study and internships.
For students who have other summer plans but still want to make progress toward their degrees, Summer Sessions offers a robust lineup of fully online courses, with new online courses added each summer.
At Summer Sessions, we strive to make Summer classes affordable and accessible to all students. For Summer 2026, we are offering a 12-unit fee cap to undergraduate students. No matter how many units a student registers for beyond the initial 12, they will only be charged for those 12! Financial aid is also available for eligible students, as are a number of financial incentives, including the Summer Access Grant and course scholarships. Don’t forget that out-of-state students pay the same rate as California residents during the Summer!
To learn more about Summer, visit the Summer Sessions website. Summer registration opens April 6th.
