Backpacking!
"We ended up with a ton of snow on our trip, even up to 2 feet in some places! Despite the windy, snowy weather, we had a great group of people and a great time exploring around the Three Sisters Wilderness. The views of the mountain made the cold nights totally worth it!"—Olivia Kollmer ’23, junior, co-leader of Outdoor Pursuits backpacking excursion to the Three Sisters Wilderness
Rock climbing!
"It was a great trip! Our participants all pushed themselves to try new things and learn new skills. Some of our participants got to experience their first time climbing outside, some advanced their climbing skills by lead climbing, and some even got to experience some adventurous multipitch climbing. The group got along really well and it was a lot of fun climbing with everyone!"—Ian Smith ‘21, senior, co-leader of Outdoor Pursuits climbing excursion to Smith Rock
Paint and Popcorn!
"In Mehling, we did a paint and juice night. Some students worked on individual projects, made gifts for each other, or traded canvases with each other every couple of minutes to create a unique piece of art. On Friday we watched a scary movie and had popcorn with wild toppings like cinnamon sugar, chocolate chips, ranch powder, white cheddar powder, kettle corn powder, and hot sauce."—Paige Patterson, director, Mehling Hall
Pancakes with Pizzazz!
"From spooky movies to a morning stroll over to Cathedral Coffee, Schoenfeldt kept busy enjoying the fall weather. We also spent a few mornings in our warm lobby, eating pancakes with a variety of fun toppings including (but not limited to) Oreos, marshmallows, and snickers!"— Joshua Bode, assistant hall director, Schoenfeldt Hall
