No Matter What

From Carter Smith, Summer Minister
The saving message of our Universalist heritage: all people are worthy of love and care, are whole members of this human family, and nothing we do can take it away. What implications does this have for our shared life together in the wider world?

Leadership News

June Moderator’s Letter

Last Sunday was a bittersweet goodbye to Rev. Bill. Many of you had an opportunity to say goodbye as Rev. Bill took time over the last month to visit for the last time with many groups in the church. At the goodbye reception we celebrated the many things we have accomplished during our shared ministry with Rev. Bill...continue.

Do you have a reason to celebrate? Say it with flowers!

This Sunday's flowers are sponsored by Isabel Sheridan in loving memory of her father, Alexander Sheridan Grass.
Do you have a birth in the family, graduation, an anniversary, a memorial, or other reason to celebrate? You can acknowledge it to the entire congregation by sponsoring a floral bouquet. As we reconnect with friends, say it with flowers on the Chancel.
Questions? Contact Marsha.

July Shared Plate
For the month of July, First Unitarian Portland shares our plate collection with Lift Every Voice Oregon (LEVO), the statewide interfaith coalition that seeks to reduce gun violence across Oregon. LEVO volunteers, including First Unitarian justice activists, have been collecting signatures to get the Statewide Initiative Petition 17 on to the November Oregon ballot.
Whether or not LEVO is able to secure the number of signatures by the early July deadline for the 2022 general election, they will continue to mobilize to reduce gun violence. We are grateful for LEVO's long-term, public advocacy and organizing to make our communities safer.
