Hass established the Foundation in 1974 to meet the ever-increasing need for literary and cultural programs. Doris served as the Foundation’s president for well over 20 years. Under her leadership, the Foundation provided the very first set of computers to the Boulder Public Library and actively advocated for the expansion of the Main Library. Doris is a true inspiration, and her life of selflessness and service (or "compulsive volunteering" as she calls it) continues to impact countless lives in our community.
Celebrate Doris, literacy and community-building by watching this historic Daily Camera video of Doris talking about distributing books at Halloween.
