Winter break is now in the rear view mirror. I was fortunate enough to spend my break in France with a group of UM-Dearborn students and faculty engaged in a study abroad course. I could go on and on about what the experience meant for our students but I thought it a wiser course to turn to my Associate Dean, Professor Gabriella Scarlatta (who co-lead the course) and ask her to share her thoughts on the trip with you. Thanks to the many generous CASL alumni who have made recent gifts to the Dr. Richard Potts Endowed Scholarship, CASL "Get to Graduation" Fund, Mathematics Scholarship, Natural Sciences Department, CASL Annual Fund, Sargon Partners Undergraduate Research Showcase, and the CASL Humanities Support Fund.
Your gifts to CASL support student success during and after their time at UM-Dearborn. With your help, CASL is able to offer students invaluable experiences in the classroom, out in the field, and around the world. Thank you for being an everyday hero for CASL students!
In 2016, Dean Hershock was receiving requests to help students who were very close to graduating but lacked the finances (often just a few hundred dollars) that would enable them to graduate. As a result, their graduation would be delayed and history shows many students never return to complete their education.
Thankfully Dean Hershock was able to help some students with generous gifts made to the CASL Annual Fund. As the true extent of the need became clear, he decided to create the CASL "Get to Graduation" Fund. To date, with your support, Dean Hershock has been able to help 14 CASL students graduate!
At UM-Dearborn, students committed to academic achievement and community engagement earn degrees that empower them to realize their future success.
The Victors for UM-Dearborn campaign aims to make this education accessible to all of our brightest students have access to this education and to ensure that our faculty and staff have the resources they need to provide them with a transformational experience.
We need your support to make these goals a reality. Make your gift today!
