Ranch House Renovation Updates |
|
|
| Mailroom:
As previously discussed, our mailroom will be renovated this winter. To accommodate this work, a temporary mailroom has been set up. All existing mailboxes and package lockers have been relocated to a temporary trailer in the Ranch House parking lot. Your current box number and key remain the same; simply collect your mail at the new temporary location.

Project Delays:
As discussed at the October board meeting, our building permit took longer than anticipated. While we did complete design stages and applied for the permit in accordance with our original timelines, permits through the Town of Carbondale have been experiencing delays. Because of this, we anticipate delays in opening this spring. We recommend that you refer to that latest renovation report for details.
Roof Work & Lap Lanes:
Please be aware the lap lanes and hot tubs are expected to temporarily close starting Monday, Nov. 24 for approximately 30 days due to roofing work. This closure is necessary to maintain a safe environment for all guests. Our goal is to keep these areas open as much as possible during the project and we will share updates if this timeline should change.

We’d like to issue a friendly, but important, reminder regarding the use of accessible parking spots. These spaces are a vital necessity for individuals with disabilities to access our facilities independently and safely. The misuse of accessible parking spots significantly impacts the independence of daily life of people with mobility challenges. We ask everyone to be a good neighbor and show respect and empathy to all members of our community. Please leave the accessible spots and access aisles open for those who truly need them. This includes while getting your mail, or going into the Ranch House, even for a short period of time. Thank you for your cooperation in making our community accessible for everyone.

This past Saturday, we hosted RVR’s annual Craft Fair, showcasing talented artists and vendors from our very own community. Shoppers browsed an array of handmade treasures—from baked goods and jewelry to keychains, paintings, and festive holiday gifts.
Thank you to everyone who participated and stopped by to support our local makers!

Holiday Lighting Reminder |
Allowed After Thursday, Nov. 20
|
RVRMA's Holiday Decoration and Lighting Policy states: "Holiday lighting and decorations, including yard ornaments, can be placed on or around your residence seven days before Thanksgiving", which is Thursday, Nov. 20 this year.
|
| |
|
Please keep wildlife safety in mind when hanging lights and decorations this holiday season. Consider wrapping lights and decorations tightly around posts and trees. Hanging lights should be at least 6 feet off the ground and fastened at the ends. It is also helpful to avoid draping lights around bushes or on trees. Thank you for doing your part to keep our local wildlife safe!

The board entertained the 2026 proposed budget in its October meeting. Given a lack of critical feedback coming from the community, the board did not recommend any changes to the last proposed draft budget.
During the November board meeting, the 2026 Budget will be officially voted on. If approved, the community will then cast their votes beginning Friday, Dec. 5. We greatly appreciate everyone’s participation in the process.
For a detailed breakdown of the proposed budgets, please refer to the linked supplementary documents.

Tom's Door Holiday Giving Program |
Tom's Door in partnership with RVR is celebrating our 10th annual holiday gift drive for Carbondale Seniors. Over the last nine years, we have experienced a generous outpouring of contributions. We are working with Aspen Glen this year to provide gift cards to all the 78 residents of Carbondale Senior Housing who otherwise might not have a Christmas. These residents are 62 years of age or older, live in Crystal Meadows housing on social security and have an income level of less than $37,000 a year. You can give them some hope and cheer and share the magic of the holiday season.
If you wish to get involved, visit the RVR Ranch House beginning Saturday, Nov. 1 and choose a key from the wreath on the festive red Tom's Christmas Door. There are several gift card options including City Market, Target and Walmart. Our suggested donation is $50. We ask that you return the gift cards into the door's mail slot no later than Sunday, Dec. 7. Please feel free to include a personal note if you wish to share a holiday message.
Additional information about Tom's Door is available next to the red door if you are not familiar with this wonderful organization and the outreach and positive impact it has in our community.
If you have any questions, please contact Sidney Poncelet at 970-309-2393 or sidponcelet@gmail.com.
We thank you in advance for your generosity.
