From the Chair
Hello from Clemson University and the Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences (EEES). I hope you are enjoying summer. It’s been about six months since our last newsletter and a lot has happened since. Our students and faculty continue to enjoy success, ranging from major new research grants (Cates and Popat), a new patent (Cates), induction as a fellow into a major national organization (DeVol), a prestigious international award (Martinez), an outstanding presentation award (Ateia), and a scholarship from an international consulting firm (Funk). And, of course, there was graduation in May and August! The demand for graduates from all our degree programs is extremely strong.
This edition also contains information about our new faculty. They will bring new perspectives and energies to our academic and research enterprises.
Our EEES family continues to grow and thrive. If you are ever in the area, please stop in and say hello.
