Dear parents and families of incoming students,

By now, you and your students have received a few messages from us with introductions to various departments. To encourage their independence and prepare them for living away from home, your students have been receiving messages more frequently with reminders about items on their New Student Checklist that need to be completed before their arrival.

Today’s email to your students introduces the Dean of Students Office and encourages them to actively participate in building our campus community. We’re sharing this information with you too, so you can become familiar with my office and our resources.

Parents and families often ask how they can support their student’s transition to college. One vital way to partner with us is to remind your student about the resources that we offer.

If students have questions or need guidance about any area of their Tufts experience outside of academics that the Dean of Students Office’s Student Life teams cover, we’re available to them and can also connect them with any of our colleagues if it belongs to a different area.

Our doors are open, we have a fully stocked ice cream cooler, and students are welcome to stop in, share their thoughts, or ask us anything!
