As summer winds down, our pool schedule will transition over the next few weeks. Lifeguards and the Snack Bar will be available Tuesday–Sunday through Aug. 16, then weekends only through Aug. 30. On Aug. 22, 23, 29, and 30, lifeguards will be on duty from 12–5 p.m.
Over Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 4–7), pool attendants will be on-site to help keep the pool area tidy. Please note there will be no lifeguards, the slide will be closed, and swimming will be at your own risk.
Thanks for another wonderful summer at the pool!

Help Preserve Our Night Sky |
River Valley Ranch is fortunate to enjoy some incredible night skies. As a reminder, the Town of Carbondale's Dark Sky ordinance requires outdoor lighting to be shielded, directed downward, and appropriately sized to help reduce light pollution.
While the HOA does not regulate when exterior lights are turned on or off, many homeowners use timers to avoid leaving lights on overnight. It's a simple way to conserve energy while helping preserve our beautiful night sky for everyone to enjoy.

During the Annual Meeting, we discussed current water conditions and RVR's water rights. In coordination with the Town of Carbondale, the ditch headgates supplying our shared irrigation system have been reduced, with additional mandatory reductions anticipated soon.
As a reminder, RVR homeowners may irrigate between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., while the golf course irrigates between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. to maintain adequate water pressure throughout the community.
- Properties with even-numbered addresses may irrigate on even-numbered calendar days.
- Properties with odd-numbered addresses may irrigate on odd-numbered calendar days.
- Areas under HOA control have reduced runtimes by 25% or more.

Installing 1/8-inch fire-resistant metal screening on attic vents is a simple, effective way to help protect your home from wind-driven wildfire embers. Recommended by the Carbondale Fire Department and the Roaring Fork Wildfire Collaborative, this upgrade has also been completed at the Ranch House. Please note: Do not install 1/8-inch screening on dryer vents, as it can restrict airflow and increase fire risk.

Stage 2 Fire Restrictions are in effect for the Town of Carbondale and surrounding areas due to increased fire danger. These restrictions prohibit activities that could spark a wildfire and are intended to help protect our community, public lands, and emergency responders.

One of our local black bears was recently spotted taking an early morning stroll through the Settlement Neighborhood. Thanks to Pat and Dan Miller for sharing!
As a friendly reminder, please help keep wildlife wild by securing trash, removing other outdoor attractants, and giving animals plenty of space if you encounter them.
Have a photo you'd like to share? We'd love to feature it in an upcoming newsletter. Please send your submissions to sarah.gager@rvrma.org.

Shake Up Your Fitness Routine This August! |
| As we head into August, a few of our fitness instructors will be away, which means you may notice some changes to the schedule.
Rather than canceling a class altogether, we may fill its usual time slot with a different but similar class, such as stretching and balance in place of yoga or cardio in place of cycling. Occasional cancellations may still be necessary.
These temporary changes are a great opportunity to explore a different class format, meet a new instructor or step outside your usual routine. You might just discover a new favorite class.
Thank you for your flexibility and continued support of our fitness program. We look forward to seeing you
