Xeric and deer resistant plants are now blooming now in RVR. These showy natives do best without supplemental water or fertilizer and are not attractive to deer. Look for them on your next walk in RVR! Thank you to RVR resident, Patti Crocket, for sharing these images and info. with us!

If you are looking for ways to reduce single-use products in your everyday routine and around your home, dryer balls are a great option when it comes to laundry. They come in various sizes and materials but are most commonly made from wool and are an eco-friendly, sustainable alternative to single-use dryer sheets and fabric softener. Wool dryer balls are also all-natural and chemical-free. Their main purpose is to help prevent clothing from clumping and wrinkling in the dryer. They can also reduce drying time by up to 25%. Dryer balls will last for years, but when they are worn out and no longer useful, just toss them in with your compost.

National Sheep Dog Finals | Volunteers Needed! |
The National Sheepdog Finals have been a great success in the past years as the participants love to come to Strang Ranch and Carbondale during our lovely Autumn in the Roaring Fork Valley. Part of the success has been the willingness of the Roaring Fork Valley folks to volunteer. It takes a village or valley to host this large of event!

Electric bikes are very popular and we are seeing more and more of them around the neighborhood. If this is your favorite method of transportation throughout RVR, we ask that you please exercise caution and follow the rules of the road. Wearing a helmet is always a good idea. There are plenty of opportunities for your electric bike to shine outside of the neighborhood, keep your speed in check and always follow the posted speed limit.

E - bikes are popular with many, ages young and old. Please be sure to share this information to your children as well!
