UMKC has been notified of nine positive COVID-19 cases on campus.
  • One case involves an individual who was in 4825 Troost suites 101 and 104 on April 8.
  • One case involves an individual who was in School of Biological Sciences rooms 206 and 322 on April 7. 
  • One case involves an individual who was in Miller Nichols Learning Center room 151 on April 11.
  • One case involves an individual who was in Bloch Executive Hall room 414 on April 7.
  • One case involves an individual who was in Law School room 3 on April 7.
  • One case involves an individual who was in Cherry Hall room 139 on April 8. 
  • One case involves an individual who was in the International Student Affairs Offices on April 11. 
  • One case involves an individual who was in Miller Nichols Learning Center room 452, Royall Hall room402, Education Building room 243 and Johnson Hall second floor study room on April 14. 
  • One case involves an individual who was in Health Sciences Building room 5301 on April 7. 
Those who test positive will remain isolated as recommended by local and national guidelines.

UMKC will continue to follow the recommendations of the local health department and the CDC. UMKC relies on these health experts to determine protocols for how to handle positive tests of faculty, staff, students or visitors on campus. 

Actions that individuals can take to protect their own health, as well as the health and safety of the campus community, include staying home if you have COVID-like symptoms. 

According to our campus policies, we will post notices of positive cases online once a week, on Mondays. All students, faculty and staff are required to report a positive COVID-19 test within four hours of receiving the test result. 

Students who test positive for COVID-19 should report COVID-19 positive test results to the UMKC HelpLine at 816-235-2222. Do not come to campus, or go to class, if you have tested positive.

Faculty and staff should report positive COVID-19 test results to their supervisor or to HR at 816-235-1229.

After normal business hours, reports of positive tests by students or employees should be made to 816-235-COVI (2684).
