Ally is an accessibility tool built-in to Blackboard, which scans uploaded course materials and provides recommendations on how to make them more accessible for students with disabilities. In Spring 2025, IT will enable Ally in all courses as part of a pilot test, though it may already be on for some Health Sciences courses.
One of the cool features of Ally is that it converts your course materials into alternative formats. So if you upload a PDF, Ally will convert it into an MP3 audio file and electronic braille. These alternative formats are available to anyone in the course- so for example, your students can listen to written course materials while commuting or exercising.
