As several states across the U.S. see spikes in coronavirus cases, it is important to remain vigilant and informed with the latest news and resources. The National HCH Council continues to maintain its COVID-19 resources page with up-to-date information as it becomes available from federal and local sources. Some recent additions include:

Additionally, the Council recently announced our involvement in a new partnership with several other national organizations—The Framework for an Equitable COVID-19 Homelessness Response—designed to help communities navigate their response to COVID-19 with a racial justice and equity approach.

New Webinar Focuses on Medication-Assisted Treatment During COVID-19 and Beyond

Thursday, July 16 | 2-3:30 p.m. CT

The HRSA Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health Technical Assistance is hosting a webinar (requires log-in) on medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder (OUD) during COVID-19 and how the AHRQ Academy Playbook can support this work.

Join this webinar and hear from presenters as they share tips and strategies that health centers can use at each stage of implementation; emerging treatment models; and technologies and challenges of managing poly-substance use. Staff from health centers, look-alikes, PCAs, HCCNs, and NCAs are invited to participate. New users will need to create an account before registering.

Re-Scheduled Webinar on CDC COVID-19 Testing Guidance and Universal Testing Events in Homeless Populations

Friday, July 10 | 12-1 p.m. CT

We've rescheduled our webinar "Testing for COVID-19 in Homeless Shelters and Encampments: Discussing CDC's New Health Department Guidance and NHCHC's Newest Issue Brief" for July 10 at noon CT. This session will discuss soon-to-be-published CDC guidance to health departments on testing, as well as our upcoming issue brief on successful universal testing strategies. (This webinar was originally scheduled for Friday, June 19.)

Join us to learn about these new resources and ask questions about testing in your community. Note: If you registered for the June 19 date, you do not have to re-register.

The Council Welcomes New Communications Manager

Terri Woodmore has joined the Council as Communications Manager. She will work as part of the Advancement team to develop and coordinate our ongoing communications strategy and initiatives, and maintain high-quality communications including mass emails, newsletters, marketing materials, website design and content, social media, and audio/video packages. Terri has led communications efforts in previous roles at the Tennessee Primary Care Association and the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency.

Did you miss our recent "Community Meet-Up on Racism and Oppression" webinar? The archived slides, recording, and other resources from this session are now available on our website. Learn from presenters and attendees about the impact of racism and how we can recommit to our fight for justice.

Learn from former members of the Homeless Patient Aligned Care Team (HPACT) clinic at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System as they share the work they are doing across the region to provide PrEP to those at risk of HIV infection.
