WDSO will have student programming weekdays from 6:00AM until 4:00PM. Music and Chesterton High School sports broadcasts will fill the remaining hours. Student management this year:

DLC Media drops their ESPN Sports Radio format on WFNF (1130am, Brazil) and translator W258BA (99.5fm, Terre Haute). Last Friday morning at 6:00AM, the station became an adult standards station (Westwood One) with the call letters WAMB ("Timeless 1130 and 99.5 WAMB"). The W258BA call letters remain the same. Core artists include The Carpenters, Norah Jones, Barry Manilow, and Frank Sinatra.

September 3: In 1968, 1570am in Auburn signed on as WIFF(AM). Today, it's WGLL(AM). In 1975, 89.1fm in Indianapolis signs on as WJEL (J. Everett Light Career Center). Later, it moved to 89.3fm, but remains WJEL. In 1980, 96.7fm in Alexandria signs on as WAXT. Today, it's WBKQ. Also in 1980, John Carl Jeffrey dies. Mr. Jeffrey was Sales Manager at the former WKMO (AM) (Kokomo). In 1948, he organized WIOU (1350am, Kokomo), and served as WIOU's VP/GM until retiring in 1972. In 2007, WOWO broadcasting legend Bob Sievers died. Age 90.
September 4: In 1995, 89.7fm in Upland signs on as WTUR. It's now WBCW, and part of The WBCL Radio Network.
September 5: In 1957, WKTL (1570am, Kendallville) became WAWK. In 1985, then-WFWQ (95.1fm, Fort Wayne) became "Majic," changing its call letters to WAJI (a most logical date, wouldn't you say?). In 2011, Evansville's "Thy Word Network" co-founder Shirley Chagle dies. Age 81.
September 6: In 1974, 95.9fm in Vevay signs on as WMGH-FM. Today, it's WKID. In 1977, 90.5fm in Rensselaer signs on as WPUM. WPUM signed off earlier this year, when St. Joseph's College suspended academic operations. In 2012, Indiana State Univerity's WISU (89.7fm, Terre Haute) GM and Faculty Advisor Dave Sabaini dies. Age 58.
September 7: In 1987, 91.5fm in McDaniels, Kentucky signs on as WBFI (and still is). In 1993, 90.7fm in Knightstown signs on as WKPW (and still is).
September 9: In 2013, Northeast Indiana radio station founder and pioneer Wayne Paradise dies. Mr. Paradise started WIFF-FM in Auburn and worked with several other radio and TV stations. Age 76.

Radio Producer

Summary:
Seeking experienced radio producer for two live network broadcasts daily. The radio producer will be responsible for the technical production of Farm Journal Radio live broadcasts as well as production of custom audio for Farm Journal websites, clients and internal promotion.
Key Responsibilities:
These duties include, but are not limited to, the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)
* Daily technical production of 2 live radio shows
* Manage automation logs of 2 live radio shows
* Manage production of various recorded audio including show promos, market reports, custom audio for affiliates and clients, custom in-house audio, etc.
* Edit audio highlights from broadcasts to use on Farm Journal websites.
* Travel to produce live broadcasts from industry events
* Assist with booking guests
* Coordinate travel logistics
Education/Skills/Professional Experience:
These qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:
* 1 to 3 years of radio production experience
* Bachelor’s degree in communications or journalism preferred
* Expertise with Adobe Audition, Pro Tools or similar audio editing suite
* Strong written and communication skills
* Must have a strong attention to detail and decision making skills
* Must be able to meet deadlines
* Knowledge of the Agricultural Industry is a plus
