AI in Legal Practice and Learning
As AI takes on increasingly complex legal tasks, from contract drafting to case analysis, the legal profession is confronting new questions about which forms of expertise remain distinctively human. This shift also complicates how early-career lawyers gain the practical experience that was once built through performing routine tasks that are now increasingly handled by AI.
In this talk, Mark Williams, founding co-director of Vanderbilt AI Law Lab (VAILL) will examine the dual impact of AI on professional legal services and legal education. Williams will highlight practical applications, challenges, and the evolving skillsets lawyers and legal educators must develop to maintain professional rigor, ethical standards, and practical fluency in an AI-augmented legal workplace. Join us Wednesday to learn more. Pizza and drinks provided.
