Welcome      Grow       Serve      Celebrate

There are numerous ways to walk through Holy Week together. Take a look, mark your calendar, and join your church family as we make our way to Resurrection Morning.
Sunday, March 24: Palm/Passion Sunday
Our children will aid with worship, and we will hear the liturgy of the palms and the passion. The children's ministry egg hunt (4th and under) will immediately follow worship. We will gather in the Garden for lunch, followed by an egg hunt and special treat. Bridge kids and youth are welcome to hide eggs and assist younger children. Click here to aid with lunch.
Mon, March 25 - Wed, March 27: Lunch Worship noon to 1:00 pm. We will join with Anderson UMC and St. Luke UMC at St. Luke for worship and lunch.  Monday's preacher: Rev. Dr. Stephen Cook, and Anderson's choir will sing.  Tuesday's preacher: Rev. Dawn Douglas Flowers. Wednesday: Rev. Bruce Case.  Worship begins at noon, and lunch will be served at 12:30 and can be taken to go.  Meet at Parkway Hills at 11:30 am to carpool to St. Luke.
Maundy Thursday, March 28
Meal at 6:00 pm in the worship center, followed by a time of worship together. We are intentionally including some family friendly elements, so we hope to see you there.  Nursery available by request. Please let us know by Monday, March 25 if you will need the nursery.
Good Friday, March 29
We will head to Galloway UMC to enjoy a Good Friday concert using music to invite us into reflection on the seven last words of Christ. To carpool, meet at PHUMC at 5:15 pm or join us at Galloway UMC. The concert begins at 6:00 pm, and a nursery is provided.
Easter Flower Cross
Drop off flowers in the worship center kitchen between 9 am - 5 pm Friday, March 29, or no later than 10 am Saturday morning to help create our Easter flower cross. If you would like to help decorate the flower cross, join the team at 9:00 am Saturday morning outside the worship center kitchen. See Rebecca Olack, Barbara Pepper, or Chere Peel for more info.
Easter Worship at 8:00 am and 10:45 am
The 10:45 am service will be livestreamed and will feature the choir.

Easter Day is always a wonderful morning of worship and hope within the life of the church. It is a day we see new faces as well as faces we haven't seen in some time. We need your help to make Easter Day welcoming and hospitable for all. We will offer worship at 8:00 am and 10:45 am. If you are willing and able to be a greeter, usher, or Communion server, click here and sign up. Signup only has Communion servers listed for the 8:00 am service, as we are hoping to have some of our college students aid with serving Communion during the 10:45 am service.

We do best what we do together!

This week is Spring Break, so we will not have Wednesday Re:treat or build Beds for Kids. We will see you on Wednesday, March 20, for our last Re:treat of the semester:Trivia night for one and all! Reserve your place here by noon Monday.
Their Light Still Shines!
This year our annual honor/memorial Easter candles will aid us in establishing a Youth Trip Scholarship Fund to aid our youth in covering the cost of the various trips and retreats throughout the year. Money should never be the reason one of our youth cannot participate. To purchase your candle in honor or memory of a loved one click here. For each name remembered or honored, cost is $10. You can pay via check (mark "Easter Candle" in the memo), online, or via our Vanco mobile app (look for "Easter Candles"). Reservation forms are also available in the foyer of the Worship Center and in the Church Office. Deadline for reservation is Wednesday, March 27
We need your help with plastic eggs and candy donations! Bring your donations and place them in the labeled bins in the foyer of either the Worship Center or the Education building.
Donations due by next Wednesday, March 20.
Sunday, April 7 we will continue to celebrate Easter with worship on the lawn and a Youth Cookout Lunch Fundraiser!
Bring a chair and join us at 10:45 am to enjoy worship outside on our beautiful campus then stick around for a meal together inside the worship center to support the youth summer trip to Waco. Tickets are $12 and include burger, beans, chips, drink and dessert. To aid with prepration, please purchase a ticket by April 4 so we can be ready for a great day at the table together. Tickets can be purchased through the Vanco mobile app, via this link, or from one our youth after worship each Sunday. *Service will not be livestreamed

Kids are currently practicing Palm Sunday music in Sunday School starting at 9:30 am.
Children's Sunday School begins in the Garden at 9:30 am. Ages 3 years old - 4th grade welcome. During the season of Lent, we are learning about the importance of the word "Remember," as we dive into the stories of Jesus during Holy Week leading up to Easter. We will need PreK, K and 1st Grade teachers this Sunday. To volunteer* click this link.
*All volunteers must submit a background check before volunteering with children and youth.

Youth and "Trolls" work together building beds at Wednesday night Re:treat in Parkway Hills basement. Over the years hundreds of beds have been built for our Beds for Kids Ministry, providing beds for children who have no beds. Click on arrow on photo to watch a short video showing our ministry abuzz!

PHUMC Kids learned about "fruits of the spirit" in their Wednesday night Re:treat activities. Bridge students helped guide the kids.

Last Wednesday morning our PHUMC Homeless Ministry volunteers left our parking lot at 7:00 am to carpool to Grace Place at Galloway UMC, downtown Jackson. There they served about a hundred individuals.
