Important Medicare Announcement

The Durable Medical Equipment Medicare Administrative Contractors (DME MACs) announced they are temporarily waiving the in-person requirements for home assessments and ATP equipment selection involvement. At NSM, we remain committed to offering remote evaluations when it is medically appropriate.

In addition to Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans, unless otherwise stated by the Payer, these procedures will be followed as the situation requires. The specific detail by Payer has been added to the COVID-19 National Payer Guidelines found by clicking the button below.

Updated COVID-19 Payer Guidelines

As the pandemic continues, so does our monitoring of the payer guideline changes in response to COVID-19. NSM has been working closely with Medicare and the large, national commercial payers to understand the payer guideline changes. We have created an overview document to help you easily navigate all of these changes in one place. This week, you will find the recent updates from CMS and the DME MACs.

Now Providing Pediatric Masks for In-Person Appointments with NSM Employees

We want to provide a safe experience for all of your patients, regardless of their age. As the largest pediatric CRT (Complex Rehab Technology) provider in the country, we will be providing pediatric masks to all NSM locations next week. This will ensure all pediatric patients can be provided a mask that fits them properly for any in-person appointment with an NSM employee.

As a reminder, when we have a face-to-face interaction with your patient we will be wearing a mask and other appropriate PPE. We will also provide them and one caregiver with a mask. Unless, of course, they already have one that they prefer!
