Major Teaching Project Grants Proposal Deadline:

October 15, 2023

Submit a major teaching project grant proposal (up to $3,000). These CTE grants encourage curricular and pedagogical innovations that will result in more engaged and improved student learning. Innovations may be at the course, department, program, division, and/or university levels.

E. Phillips Knox Distinguished Teaching Award Nomination Deadline: October 15, 2023

This award was established by Miami alumnus E. Phillips Knox, a 1968 graduate, to recognize creative, innovative, and engaging teaching methods at the undergraduate level.

New Issue of the Journal on Excellence in College Teaching!

The latest issue of the peer-reviewed Journal on Excellence in College Teaching (Volume 34.3, 2023) features articles on

engaging students in the flipped classroom,
building communities of practice with social media,
graduate mentoring, and
an article authored by Elise Radina (Graduate School and Research Office; Family Science & Social Work) and Miami graduate Sydney S. Feeney titled “Sisterhood and Social Justice: A Critical Exploration of Inclusion in College Greek Life.”

Supporting International (ESL) Students in Content-Area Learning: ESL Instructors’ Experiences and Expertise

Mental Health Ally Program

The Mental Health Ally Program (MHAP) is a volunteer program coordinated by the Student Counseling Service to support the confidence and competence of faculty and staff intervening with emotional and/or mental health concerns in students. Those who complete program requirements are designated as Miami University Mental Health Allies.
