Saving Firefighter Lives: 4,000 Houston firefighters empowered with 3 Steps Detect

Houston Fire Department (HFD) in Texas is the third largest department in the country. They see the impact of cancer on their team and take the fight against cancer seriously. DetecTogether spent a week training all HFD District Training Officers to teach 3 Steps Detect to all members of the department. In partnership with the HFD, DetecTogether continues to work toward reducing cancer deaths in the fire service.

UDS supports volunteer service 3 Steps Detect training

Did you know most of Long Island, NY, fire and rescue are volunteers?

With the support of United Diagnostic Services (UDS), DetecTogether brought its 3 Steps Detect training to first responders at Bay Shore Brightwaters Rescue Ambulance Service (BBRAS) in Long Island, NY.

It was an honor to teach BBRAS first responders. Our online version is free to all first responders and available 24/7. Just like a fire, Response Time to Cancer Matters.

Answering the Call: The National Firefighter Registry (NFR)

The NFR was created by the National Insitute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to gather research to understand cancer risk and help firefighters battle the challenges of cancer. Whether you have been diagnosed with cancer or not, registering for the NFR can help you and your brothers and sisters in the fire service today and into the future.
