Student Legal Services turns 50 - Celebrate on Dec. 5 |
Student Legal Services, PSU’s student fee–funded office offering free legal support, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. What began with one attorney in 1975 has grown into a four-attorney team that now assists with hundreds of cases each year and provides award-winning legal education programs. Join SLS for a special open house marking this milestone.

Chief Willie Halliburton announces retirement from PSU |
Portland State University Director of Campus Public Safety and Chief of Police Willie Halliburton will retire after a distinguished career dedicated to community-centered, relationship-based policing. During his tenure, Chief Halliburton reshaped public safety at PSU by championing de-escalation, empathy, open communication and deep partnership with students, faculty and staff.
PSU will conduct a national search for the next chief early next year.

The Office of Academic Innovation (OAI) welcomes two new associate directors whose leadership will help strengthen teaching and learning at Portland State. Grant Scribner and Samantha Hines bring deep experience in teaching, learning and the digital learning environment, and will play key roles in guiding the support OAI offers instructors across the university.
