We had a successful white wine tasting last week with 25 RVR attendees.
Chris Becker guided the group through six unique white wine varietals. To complement the tasting, RVR provided a tasty selection of snack pairings. Some of the crowd favorites included Caves de Pomerol, Picpoul de Pinet, and Villa Rosa Gavi di Gavi.
Overall, the group had a fantastic time and shared their appreciation for everything from the host’s expertise to the wine selections.
Look for details on an upcoming signature drink event at the Ranch House this spring!

As previously shared in the RVR newsletter, the presence of Emerald Ash Borer has been identified in several Ash trees by the Town of Carbondale’s Arborist. In response, the town has requested that RVRMA begin the necessary process of removing (or treating) Ash trees within our community to ensure the health of our tree canopy. The Town has also identified many Ash trees to be of “high value,” meaning that they are older and/or healthy specimens. These trees were treated with injections in 2024 per the Town’s instructions. All remaining trees not treated to enhance their resilience are scheduled for eventual removal. The scope of this mitigation is limited to public lands, inclusive of the Town’s Right of Way. This refers to areas lining RVR’s roadways and town parks/public lands. If an Ash tree does not have a silver tag hanging from its trunk, it is tree scheduled for eventual removal.
In 2025, we will be carefully removing up to 43 trees, with work beginning next week and continuing throughout the year. Each tree that is scheduled for removal has been marked with a black dot to make it easily identifiable.
For information on how to identify Ash Trees you may click here to be directed to a video offered by the Colorado State Forest Service.

Twenty Second Amendment to the
RVRMA Design Guidelines |
|
|
At February's board meeting the RVRMA Board of Directors had the chance to review a draft version of the Twenty Second Amendment to the RVRMA Design Guidelines. The draft Amendment is the result of an almost yearlong effort, focusing largely on fire defensiveness and waterwise landscaping. The amendment also allows for more contemporary interpretations of the guidelines including reasonable and modest changes in keeping with the architectural fabric that has been established in the neighborhood.
Click here to read an Executive Summary along with the latest draft version of the Twenty Second Amendment to the RVR Design Guidelines. As is typical with any amendments made to the RVR Design Guidelines, the document will be posted for a minimum of thirty days before the RVR Board votes to approve it. Final Board vote and approval will potentially occur at the April board meeting.
Have feedback you would like to share? Click here for the Feedback Form to submit your comments. The draft Amendment will be a topic for discussion at the March board meeting, if feedback is submitted prior to the March meeting, the board will have an opportunity to view it before their discussion.

Maintenance teams will start preparing the courts as soon as the weather permits. They will work hard during favorable conditions, but cold or wet weather may slow down progress. Additionally, overnight freezing temperatures can also cause delays. We’ll provide updates through the weekly news as the courts become available.

Read more about our unique clay courts below:
|
|
|
RVR clay courts are beloved by the community and we boast one of the finest tennis facilities in the valley. The preparation of the five Har-Tru clay courts is a delicate job and requires a lot of work from RVR crews to get them ready for opening day. Crews are often met with cold and wet weather roadblocks that put a halt to their efforts. Reconditioning of the clay courts after winter months includes five segments: cleaning, leveling, top dressing, rolling and laying lines.
Click here to learn more about the details of these five steps and how the process unfolds.
We thank you for your patience while we work hard to get the courts in perfect shape for our members and guests!
