Shorter Wait Times in Pulmonology
Ahead of Respiratory Season
CHKD’s pediatric pulmonology team continues to provide comprehensive care for children with a wide range of respiratory conditions, including asthma, chronic cough, cystic fibrosis, sleep disorders, and more. Our board-certified pulmonologists, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team offer advanced diagnostics and evidence-based treatment, all within a child-focused, family-centered environment.
We’re pleased to share that pulmonology wait times have decreased, enabling us to see more patients in a timely manner and improve access to specialty care for your referrals. This expanded access is especially helpful as we enter respiratory season, when timely evaluation and management of breathing issues is more critical than ever.
Whether for initial evaluations, second opinions, or ongoing management, our team is ready to support your patients with the highest standard of care.

Med/Psych Unit Now Integrated Health Unit |
To better reflect the comprehensive, whole-person care provided on 7D at the Main Hospital, we are updating the unit’s name from “Med/Psych” to Integrated Health. This new name more accurately captures the holistic approach of the services offered, while helping to reduce the stigma often associated with traditional mental health labels. It also supports broader hospital and community engagement, improves access for patients, and is expected to contribute to increased referrals and patient volumes. Thank you to everyone who continues to deliver exceptional care on 7D.
