March was a strong month for the LADOJ - fighting and winning to make our great State an even better place to live, work, worship, and raise families. We are grateful to share with you today just a few highlights of Attorney General Jeff Landry's Office from the month. It is an honor to serve Louisiana and her people!

Thanks to bravery by the crime victim, an exceptional prosecution by Assistant Attorneys General Barry Milligan and Erica McLellan, a great investigation by our Cyber Crime Unit, and excellent work by others at the LADOJ - Melanie Curtin received a life sentence after a jury of her peers in Livingston Parish convicted her on charges of aggravated rape and video voyeurism. We proud to get justice in this case and will continue doing all we can to make Louisiana safer for you and your families.

Gas prices across Louisiana reached a new record high in March, and the pain at the pump has not relented on its own. So Attorney General Jeff Landry offered the Biden Administration a tried and true solution to lowering gas prices: more domestic energy production. Our Attorney General is challenging the President to drill more in the United States and return America to energy independence. In his Fox Business interview on Mornings with Maria, AG Landry argued that Biden's energy policies are causing Americans to suffer.

In early March, Attorney General Jeff Landry led a coalition of 25 states in opposition to the President's attack on American energy. The AG's action followed a proposed rule by the Biden Administration that would prohibit liquefied natural gas from being transported by rail car in the United States. Our office contends that this proposal will have devastating effects on the economy, American energy, and national security.

In late March, Attorney General Jeff Landry joined a 21-state lawsuit against the Biden Administration over the CDC mask mandate on planes, trains, buses, and public transit. These legal efforts led to the eventual elimination of the public transportation mask dictates. It is yet another win over the President that our office has achieved for Louisiana and for Liberty. We will continue defending your constitutional rights and fighting government overreach.

With growing concerns of anxiety, depression, and negative peer pressure in children, our office is working to hold social media platforms accountable. Attorney General Jeff Landry joined a bi-partisan group of state attorneys general to investigate if TikTok is negatively affecting the physical and mental health of our youth.
