Mr. C, Vanderbilt’s Mascot
Mr. Commodore, aka Mr. C, the mascot for Vanderbilt University, has led students and athletes to unparalleled success since 1873. He has undergone many transformations, but one thing remains constant: his passion for Vandy. You can find Mr. C at Vanderbilt Athletics events, around Nashville or on campus.

Your Support Matters!
It is no secret that student support at Vanderbilt athletic events plays a vital role in creating a strong, competitive atmosphere for our teams. When students show up, bring energy and fill the stands, it gives student-athletes an extra boost of motivation and pride as they represent the university. Beyond the impact on the game, that support helps build a sense of community and school spirit and creates a championship-winning atmosphere!
Quotes from coaches about the importance of student support:

“We need our student body support to help create a big home field advantage and continue to make the Plex a tough place for our opponents to play. Our home record has been fantastic over the past few seasons, and it will continue to be a vibrant and exciting environment to be a part of.”— Darren Ambrose, Soccer

“To me, student attendance and support at sporting events is a huge part of the success in the teams. You feel the support of your community and the collective pride in who and what Vanderbilt represents. Support from your peers carries a different weight—their energy provides a real impact.” — Josie Barnes, Bowling

| “We don't want our home crowds to simply watch games, we want them to influence them, and students are the driving force behind that environment. The louder our student section, the more the girls feed off the energy to give a true home-field advantage.” — Beth Hewitt, Lacrosse

“A great student section is about more than filling seats. It’s about swinging the momentum of a tight match, impressing the nation’s top recruits and elevating the pride our athletes feel wearing Vanderbilt across their chest. Choosing to be a Commodore means choosing to be different, so let’s prove it with the best student sections in the SEC across all of our sports!” — Anders Nelson, Volleyball
