Shaq Turner Responds Quickly and Calmly

What's New with PDX Next: Ticket Hall and North Escalators
Ticket Hall: Starting today, Monday, Nov. 11, through Thursday, Nov. 21, crews will work on completing ticket island 4/5. Construction activities may generate noise, odor and dust, and mitigation techniques will be used to minimize these impacts.
North Escalators: Also starting Monday, Nov. 11, through Wednesday, Nov. 13, two escalators between the ticket level and baggage claim will be closed, as well as the escalator down from the skybridge. On Wednesday, Nov. 14, and Thursday, Nov. 15, both escalators between the north skybridge level will close and foot traffic will be directed to the elevators and stairwell. These closures support work to complete flooring transitions to new terrazzo.

Discover the Stories Behind PDX’s New Glass Art Installation
What stories or "mystery creatures" can you find in the lines? Meet "Between" by Portland artist Yoonhee Choi – a 56-foot glass masterpiece that transforms the wait at the security checkpoints into a moment of discovery. Yoonhee sees her work as a “between” space, like the experience of travel itself: a moment suspended between bookends, from one place to another. With a mix of colors, shapes, and playful hints at everyday scenes (think text bubbles and flight paths), "Between" invites you to pause and let your imagination wander.

Condé Nast Traveler: Bright Ideas in Travel 2024
Condé Nast's Bright Ideas in Travel list recognizes the players, places and projects that are approaching travel’s most pressing issues with thoughtfulness and zeal. This year, they selected trailblazers whose unique and pioneering approaches straddle the realms of sustainability, community, inclusion, accessibility, conservation, innovation and wellness...and we'll give you one guess which airport made the list. PDX, of course, honored for showcasing local and independent businesses in our new main terminal.

PDX in Pictures
Every year, the PDX Excellence in Service Awards honor customer service Superstars from each of our airport partners – airlines, concessions, rental cars and more.
Last weekend, this illustrious group – and their plus ones – gathered for airfield views and great food and drink at Loyal Legion, while enjoying kudos for their extraordinary efforts.
As Port of Portland Customer Programs and Services Manager Walt Marchbanks noted, "We have something really special at PDX. Airport employees treat passengers with kindness and care, and it’s important to reciprocate when we can. For everyone involved, your work is incredibly valuable and very much appreciated."
