October 14, 2019 (Los Angeles, CA) - The 17th Annual Lucie Awards announce this year’s Support Category Nominees, from which seven individuals or organizations in the creative community will be recognized on Tuesday, October 22, at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City. All nominees have proven essential to the process of crafting exceptional images and are celebrated at the Lucie Awards gala. Tickets are on sale at www.lucies.org.

Additionally, Lucie Foundation will recognize this year’s extraordinary honorees and the talented winners from the 2019 International Photography Awards (IPA) juried competition - the Foundation’s sister-effort. Awards presented will include previously announced Lucie Honorees, IPA prizes, Support Category Awards, and a special tribute to those in the industry who have passed on.
The 2019 honorees, who will join the distinguished group of 150 previously recognized photographers are: Jay Maisel for Lifetime Achievement, Stephen Shore for Achievement in Fine Art, Annie Leibovitz for Achievement in Portraiture, Maggie Steber for Achievement in Photojournalism, Edward Burtynsky for Achievement in Documentary, Ellen Von Unwerth for Achievement in Fashion, Zanele Muholi for the Humanitarian Award, Al Bello for Achievement in Sports, and Rencontres d’Arles will receive the Spotlight Award and Tyler Hicks will receive the 2nd Annual Impact Award.
