What are some of your favorite ways to cultivate well-being in your life?
Over the past year, I have made adjustments to how I cultivate well-being in my life. Prior to finding out I was going to be a new mom, my focus was on attending several Orangetheory classes each week and pushing myself to

beat my personal records. Now, my goals have shifted to staying active and fueling my body with what it needs for my baby. The main way that I stay active is by taking my puppy on daily walks (she is not complaining). This helps both my physical and emotional well-being especially as the weather starts to shift into warmer temperatures. When summer approaches, the opportunity for family walks puts the biggest smile on my face. As for fueling my body, I truly believe everything is okay in moderation. I strive to have a healthy balance of fruits, vegetables, meats, and whole grains. However, this has not been easy with fighting pregnancy cravings (i.e. ice cream) and food aversions. How I cultivate well-being in my life looks a little different in this season of life, but I am embracing it with a positive outlook and I look forward to exciting times ahead as our family grows.

HR Well-being is an employee health initiative that, in partnership with Washington University experts, offers opportunities for employees to improve their physical and emotional well-being. This initiative focuses on developing evidence-based programs and making personal connections to provide employees with valuable and fun experiences that improve their health. We aim to foster a culture that prioritizes employee health and well-being as integral to the mission of teaching, research, and patient care, and create an environment where the healthier choice is the easiest choice; where employees are empowered to choose wellness.
WashU Wellness Champions help us understand the needs within different work environments, promote the importance of personal health, and encourage their coworkers to engage in wellness program offerings.
