Quality & Research Committee

The Q&R committee has been busy this summer! We've kicked off work on consumer engagement through a partnership with PHA member National Association of Chronic Disease Directors, and next month member Blue Cross Blue Shield Association will lead a strategic discussion on value based care. 

The committee’s report on Social Determinants of Health, now available as an eBook, is a great resource for rooting your SDOH work in the strongest science-based evidence. PHA members can obtain a free copy by emailing staff@populationhealthalliance.org.

Government Affairs Committee

The GA committee it is seeking a co-chair to work alongside Helene Forte and the rest of the committee members to discuss and plan action to advance key priority policy and advocacy issues. With new policies being introduced every day, the opportunities for PHA’s voice to impact the discussion in Washington are unlimited. As one of the cornerstone leadership positions of the Alliance, The GA co-chair plays a key role in guiding PHA’s GA efforts. Merck enters collaboration as part of FDA’s program to evaluate the use of blockchain to protect pharmaceutical product integrity

Merck, IBM, KPMG, and Walmart announced that the companies have been selected by the United States Food and Drug Administration to be included in a program in support of the U.S. Drug Supply Chain Security Act that addresses requirements to identify, track and trace prescription medicines and vaccines distributed within the United States. More 


NCQA is pleased to announce the NCQA Innovation Awards—Featuring Quality Accelerators in Health Care. 

The NCQA Innovation Awards will recognize health plans for implementing  leading-edge strategies that improve both quality and value in the following categories: integration of care; patient and family engagement; delivery system design; use of technology; and customer experience.
Details about the application process and the application are available on the NCQA website. The submission deadline is July 31. Awards will be announced and presented at the 2019 Health Care Quality Congress (Dallas, October 2–4).
