Disease Transmission Modeling for Measles Control
Tuesday, January 23, 1:00 pm ET
Measles has a long history of study as a canonical pathogen for the development of mathematical transmission models. This presentation will focus on the use of models to address questions of current interest in measles control - characterizing local disease epidemiology, highlighting data quality issues, and quantitatively informing the tradeoffs that immunization programs face. I will present example use cases demonstrating models’ applicability to broad questions salient to global policymaking bodies, and focused decisions relevant to local/national control programs in measles-endemic countries.
