Service Centers
Your residence hall Service Center is your one-stop shop for check-in and check-out, picking up mail and packages, grabbing a temporary key or access card, exchanging linen packets, checking out a vacuum or broom, and much more! Each neighborhood has at least one primary service center open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
|
Laundry
Laundry facilities are in each residence hall building, including University Village and 1855 Place apartments. Van Hoosen apartment residents may use the Owen Hall laundry room. Laundry facilities are free for students to use. Laundry supplies may be purchased at select Sparty's locations.
|
Trash and Recycling
Residence halls do not have trash chutes. Large landfill bins are placed outside of each residence hall for waste disposal. All trash must be disposed of in these outdoor landfill bins.
Each residence hall has a recycling center, typically located in the lobby. These centers have bins for plastic, paper, metal, and glass. Cardboard should be recycled in designated large bins located outside of residence halls near the landfill bins

Packages
Service Centers will begin accepting packages for fall residents Aug. 12. Any items delivered before Aug. 12 will be returned to the sender.
The Package Process
When a package arrives, we log it into our system and send you an email when it's ready for pickup. This helps us ensure accurate delivery and resolve any issues with carriers. You may receive a notification before your package is ready, so please check your MSU email regularly.
Addressing a Package
Use the following format for mail:
Student’s Name
Hall Name and Room Number
Street Address
East Lansing, MI 48825
Find your hall address on MSU Campus Maps. For apartment mail, refer to mailing addresses.
Recognized Carriers
We accept packages from UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL and Amazon. For security and proper logging, we do not accept drop-offs or same-day deliveries from individuals or nonestablished carriers. For such items, students must be present to accept them.
Perishables
We accept deliveries from flower shops, Edible Arrangements, and MSU Bakers but can only hold perishables briefly. If not picked up in time, these items will be discarded. You will be notified via MSU email before any perishable item is discarded.
