Reading and writing are critical literacy skills for children to develop, especially in the primary grades. Our 4th annual Young Authors' Festival provides an opportunity for children to develop these skills, and for adults to learn tips and techniques for supporting their children's literacy development.

Please take this opportunity to support children's literacy!

Students who win awards in this year's writing contest are invited to read their entries at the festival. This year's theme is "The Importance of Family and Helping Others." As students write a poem, narrative, or expository piece, they are encouraged to write about personal family stories or memories, or to create a story about characters they make up.
