Applications for the second cohort of Faculty Executive Leadership Academy Fellows are being accepted through Monday, Oct. 16. Tenured full professors with leadership experience are invited to apply for this unique two-year leadership development program.

Beatriz Rodriguez grew up in Medellín, Colombia. She came to the U.S. as an international student to attend Kennesaw State University, where she earned a degree in marketing. In 2006, she came to Georgia Tech.

Claire Berger, a professor of the practice in the School of Physics, has been awarded the Chevalier dans L'Ordre des Palmes Académiques, one of the oldest and highest honors from the French government.

Christopher Jones was selected as the recipient of the 2023 Institute Award for Excellence in Industrial Gases Technology from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Jones is the John F. Brock III School Chair of the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.

Thomas Kurfess has been appointed to the Department of the Navy Science and Technology Board. Kurfess is the chief manufacturing officer of Georgia Tech and executive director of the Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute. He is the HUSCO/Ramirez Distinguished Chair in Fluid Power and Motion Control and professor in the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering.

Han Zhang, Steven A. Denning Professor in Technology and Management in the Scheller College of Business, has been appointed editor-in-chief of the journal Information & Management.
