New Platform Investments

CellBio Scientific

Housatonic launched CellBio Scientific to identify and acquire companies providing cell-biology research services and related consumable products. In May, Housatonic acquired Acepix Biosciences, a provider of histopathology services and products tailored to the preclinical research market. Acepix's histopathology services and products provide insight into characteristics of specific tissues and are utilized by researchers to determine how drug candidates impact various specimens. In October, Housatonic acquired System Biosciences, a provider of proprietary exosome research products and CRO services to the preclinical drug discovery market as well as to diagnostic researchers.

Guardian Data Destruction

In May, Housatonic acquired Guardian Data Destruction, a leading provider of data destruction services and a trusted partner in the Information Technology Asset Disposition (ITAD) industry. Guardian provides onsite data destruction, enterprise and data center relocations and decommissioning, secure IT packing and logistics, and other customized solutions for end-of-life IT assets.  Rob Alston was appointed CEO at closing, replacing the founder.  Alston was previously the CEO at Access Information Management, a former Housatonic portfolio company. Liquidity Event

OneDigital Aquires EOI

In September 2024, Housatonic portfolio company EOI Service Company was acquired by OneDigital, a large PE-backed provider of employee benefits services. This outcome represents the culmination of a successful four-year partnership with the EOI team that began in October 2020 when Housatonic led a majority recapitalization as the first institutional investor in the four-decade old business. As anticipated, during our hold period EOI continued to benefit from long-term channel partnerships with insurance brokers that value the Company’s high-touch customer service & technology capabilities. We worked closely with management to professionalize operations and accelerate the Company’s go-to-market efforts with a focus on growing recurring revenue. These initiatives contributed to consistent and attractive organic growth and ultimately helped position the Company for a successful sale.
