My name is Camille and I am 14 years old. In January of 2013, when I was ten, I was diagnosed with an aggressive childhood cancer c alled osteosarcoma. My whole world was turned upside down in the blink of an eye.
Osteosarcoma is a bone cancer, and the tumor was in my right leg. Over the next few months, I went through chemo, leg surgery, and surgery on both of my lungs.
I was in a lot of pain, had intense anxiety, and spent much of the next three years in the hospital, at appointments, or at home. It took a very long time to heal from my three surgeries.
I worked really hard to accept my challenges, and to be grateful every day for what I still had instead of thinking about what I had lost.
