The Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development announced the second round of Tourism Enhancement Grant applications are now open.  The grants are available to counties and cities seeking to enhance existing tourism assets or develop new infrastructure to increase economic impact.  Funded by the Rural Economic Opportunity Act of 2016, the second round of Tourism Enhancement Grants offer communities grants up to $50,000 with a match requirement based on economic status.  The deadline for applications is November 30, 2016.  To learn more about the grants and how to apply, click here.  
The Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation's Office of Energy Programs is inviting public, private, and non-profit Tennessee based fleets to apply for the Tennessee Natural Gas and Propane Vehicle Grant Program.  There is a total of $2,500,000 available under this competitive funding opportunity.  Each grant will provide up to 50% of the incremental purchase cost of eligible vehicles, with a maximum grants of $25,000 for each eligible vehicle.  The deadline to submit applications is December 16, 2016.  Click here for more information on applying and eligible projects.  
Thank you to all who attended the TCSA Fall Conference & Trade Show!  Three counties were awarded for their successes over the past year.  Giles County was presented a certificate for their hard work in creating two convenience center locations utilizing TDEC grant funds.  Loudon County was highlighted for receiving Clean Diesel Technology grants through TDOT to replace their aging trucks and highway equipment with new energy efficient vehicles.  Knox County was recognized for the installation of solar energy panels on the rooftops of 11 county schools and several other county buildings to increase their usage of renewable energy.  Congratulations to all three counties for their hardwork and dedication to serving their communities!  Most handouts and presentations from the conference are now available on the TCSA website.
