Wednesday, September 26, Open Block 12-1, Dowling 745A - Info on the early assurance programs, health experiences, course selection, and seniors talking about choosing a major. Yes, you can major in chemical engineering, music, biopsychology or history and still be pre-dent.

Not sure what the pre-dent requirements are, wonder how to find health-related experience, want to explore different health fields, trying to figure out when you would apply to medical school, want to know how to get involved in research - these and many other questions are answered on our website. Visit it for accurate information and honest advice.
Other sites to visit include www.aspiringdocs.org, (managed by the AAMC) and all the official health professions websites aimed at providing accurate and thorough information to students (e.g. www.adea.org and www.aavmc.org). Don’t rely on rumors but get the straight facts from official sites.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY Part-time, unpaid opportunity Hours per week: 10 minimum Harvard Aging Brain Study, Department of Neurology, Massachusetts General Hospital, Charlestown, MA
Description: The Harvard Aging Brain Study (HABS) is a 5-10 year longitudinal study investigating Alzheimer’s Disease, specifically the preclinical stages. We have screened over 400 participants, who come into our clinic at least once a year. Participants undergo memory testing, blood draws, MRI and PET imaging, and various optional sub-studies including a lumbar puncture.

Job Description: We are seeking motivated, independent undergraduate students to assist us with ongoing research in memory and aging. Typical tasks include administrative responsibilities such as preparing for patient visits, filing, data entry, and quality assurance projects. For interns who show promise and competence, patient interaction may be available in the form of telephone screens, computerized testing administration, and visit coordination. Opportunities for observation of scans and other testing may also be available for interns who show high levels of professionalism. An ideal candidate would have the following skills/qualifications:
- Detail oriented and able to work independently
- Interest in working with aging populations
- Strong customer service skills
- Background with administrative experience
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Comfort with working with Protected Health Information/ability to adhere to MGH policy regarding patient privacy
- Neuroscience/Psychology major and/or demonstrated interest in research
