Tufts in Pavia Summer Program Information Session |
Tufts Global Education, in cooperation with the School of Engineering and the Program of Italian Studies, has created Tufts in Pavia, a five-week summer program in Pavia, Italy, that provides students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the wonderful culture of Italy while earning credits in Data or Computer Science. This program is designed for all students with an interest in Computer Science and an eagerness to learn about Italy. No background in Italian language or Computer Science is needed. Join us on Monday, October 23, at 12 noon in Dowling Hall Room 745B to learn more!

Job and Internship Search Strategies for International Students |
On Wednesday, October 25, at 12 noon–1 p.m., this workshop will provide an overview of how to legally work in the U.S. and show you how to conduct a successful job and internship search. We hope to share some optimism, practical insights, and best practices. Topics include preparing for your job search, researching, how to efficiently target companies that sponsor H-1B visas and hire international students, uncovering the "hidden job market," and effective and efficient use of multiple job search methods. Lunch will be provided.

Subsistence and Persistence: Constructing Pasture in Koobi Fora, Kenya |
Join Tufts professor Ben Davies in this latest installment of the Hoch Cunningham Environmental Lectures. Recent studies have emphasized the disruptive and creative role of mobile pastoralism in the maintenance of grassy ecosystems and their biodiversity. This talk will introduce an interdisciplinary study investigating these effects among Daasanach pastoralist communities in northern Kenya. The talk will take place on Thursday, October 26, at 12 noon in Curtis Hall.

Join Assistant Directors of Tufts Programs Abroad and Tufts Global Education for an information session on study abroad options for SMFA students on Friday, October 27, at 12 noon–1 p.m. at the SMFA Room B201. Can't make it? Presenters will be available afterwards from 1–2 p.m. in the SMFA Atrium to answer questions at the Global Education information table as part of SMFA Advising Friday drop-ins.

Intent to Study Abroad Deadline: November 1 |
Submitting an Intent to Study Abroad is a mandatory step for participation in an education abroad program. The deadline is November 1, 2023, to go abroad in the 2024–2025 academic year. Registration of intent is non-binding; however, failure to register by this deadline will make you ineligible to apply and for further consideration. Registering your intent excludes you from the on-campus housing lottery for that academic year. If you have questions about the housing application process, contact the Office of Residential Life and Learning.
