Assistant Director, Student-Athlete Success Program – Johnson C. Smith University

Reports to the Director of the Center for Student Success and Academic Excellence. The Assistant Director will work to meet the academic support needs of student-athletes. Assistant Professor of Sport Management – Clemson University

Currently the Sport and Recreation Management emphasis area within the PRTM program at Clemson University serves 200+ students and growing. We seek a faculty member who will continue the program’s excellence in teaching, demonstrate an emerging line of fundable research related to sport, have expertise in contemporary quantitative analyses, translation, and application and exhibit a proficiency in open-source statistical tools (e.g., R, Python). Open-Rank Faculty Position – Health Technology And/Or Artificial Intelligence And HealthFor Recreation, Sport And Tourism – University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

We seek candidates with an interdisciplinary research agenda in recreation, sport and/or tourism that addresses technology to promote health and well-being. Examples of research areas that align with this position include (but are not limited to): adoption of technologies, adaptive technologies, spatial analytics/geographic analysis, big data methods, especially those using (AI), and other AI and health technologies for health in the contexts of recreation, sport and tourism.

UIUC is hiring a cluster of faculty in the broadly themed area AI for Community Health to promote and support health and well-being. The candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with other faculty members hired as part of the cluster. The cluster will be supported by multiple research centers which will provide resources and support to develop this important research area. Participating centers include the Health Care Engineering Systems Center (HCESC) in the Grainger College of Engineering, the Center on Aging, Health, and Disability (CHAD) in the College of Applied Health Sciences, the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA), and the Cline Center for Advanced Social Research, among others.

Faculty Position: Clinical Assistant Professor – Arizona State University

Social Media Intern: Manage Carolina Flyers social media accounts (Facebook, Tic Toc, Instagram and X); In conjunction with Carolina Flyers social media plan create a plan for an overarching social media strategy and steps to execute; Brainstorm new ways to engage followers and create enticing content; Engage with followers to grow Carolina Flyers audience; Create graphics and/or videos for social media channels; Schedule posts on a weekly basis; In season capture practice and game content for postings.

Sports Broadcast Operations Internship

SMT’s Durham-based operations team supports sports broadcast all across North America, in a variety of ways. The scope of this department includes help desk technical support for clients utilizing our technology, our travel team’s on-site operation of our broadcast technology and our recent addition of a remote production studio at our HQ.

The Sports Broadcast Operations Intern will be exposed to all elements of our operations department. This includes the completion of SMT’s internal Certification Training program, traveling to support at least 1 remote event and supporting events from our remote production studio. Interns will work directly with the managers of these teams throughout the course of their internship, as well as completing a system build as their final project.

Cary Christian School Sports Management Internship

Cary Christian School is looking for sports management interns for January through May 2024. The time window will be afternoons and evenings and potentially on a Saturday or two. This person will work be involved primarily in the events and practice portion of our program where the focus is on game day administration. In addition this individual could be involved in any of the following areas: logistics, eligibility, facilities, recognition, and branding. Further the athletic director would be happy to set aside time to give overviews based upon experience to add to the student’s learning which could also include copies of pertinent documentation that may help them in their professional development. Arts and Cultural Program Supervisor – Chatham County

The Arts and Cultural Program Supervisor is a new addition to Chatham County Parks and Recreation team and is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and supervising a new and diverse range of art and cultural programs, and events, and instructional classes to serve our residents. This position works closely together with the other Program Supervisors to coordinate programs and special events and must have the ability to work flexible hours, including some required evening and weekend work.

Social Science Technician – Grand Teton National Park

The social science technician works closely with the park social scientist to better understand visitor use and experience, as well as recreation related impacts in Grand Teton National Park and the John D. Rockefeller Memorial Parkway. Major duties include: Developing data collection protocols and sampling plans; Collecting social science data related to visitor use, visitor experience, and visitor related resource impacts, including deploying visitor use monitoring equipment, downloading information from equipment, administering face to face interviews with park visitors, observing visitor behaviors, and using GIS equipment and mobile applications; Organizing and consolidating data to prepare for analysis; Analyzing social science data to answer research questions; Communicate social science research via written reports to a range of audiences.

Associate Director – Learning and Evaluation – KABOOM!

As Director of Learning and Evaluation at KABOOM! you will work to establish a data-informed, learning-focused approach to advancing KABOOM!’s mission of ending playspace inequity through the analysis of research, data, and other information. You will lead KABOOM!’s efforts to map gaps in playspace equity, help to determine the quality of existing playspaces in partnership with municipal and nonprofit networks, and significantly contribute to the measurement of outcomes and outcomes that results from our work. You will work to support KABOOM! staff and external research consultants to expand the organization’s capacity to measure the effectiveness of its work and to advocate for increased investment in closing the playspace inequity gap. You will also support the drafting of funding proposals that demonstrate KABOOM!’s evaluative capacity and support the building of relationships to improve park and playspace equity. Finally, you will support Directors, Vice Presidents, and the CEO as they leverage data, research, and other kinds of information to make the case for ending playspace inequity across the United States.
