Navigating Your Academic Journey: Academic Advising & Beyond (Mandatory)

Join the Academic Advising Team (all degree programs) as they host an open house event introducing the various departments, offices, and teams that support your academic journey at Tufts. Navigate key places on campus to get the help you need to make the most of your academic program at Tufts. Meet your advising teams and explore our many academic support programs. Some pre-major advisors are also available to meet you in person during this time, so check in with your advising team about that option, too. This event will be based out of Dowling Hall but will include locations across the Medford/Somerville campus. 

Bridging the Herd (Mandatory)

Join residence hall staff to begin making connections with your peers. Topics include resources in the residence halls and community building.

Introduction to Health & Wellness: Session 1 (Mandatory)

Health and Wellness are vital supports for both academic and personal success. Join us for a brief presentation on the services and resources available to you at Tufts and hear firsthand from students who have used them.

Illumination Ceremony (Mandatory) 

7:45pm-9:00pm | President's Lawn

Presented by the Tufts Chaplaincy, this beautiful ritual and tradition takes place twice in each Tufts student’s journey—as a highlight of orientation and on the night before Commencement. Through words and music by students, staff and alums, we will reflect on what it means to set a light on this Hill.

Come out for this annual orientation tradition. Sit back and enjoy some entertainment from Tufts' most talented student performance organizations. Enjoy an ice cream treat courtesy of Tufts University Police Department (TUPD) and the student-run Tufts University Emergency Medical Services (TEMS). Don't forget to bring a towel or blanket!

REGISTER NOW: StAAR Center Sessions

All new students are required to participate in one of the many sessions being offered by the StAAR Center on Saturday, August 30. These programs will take place at various times in the Joyce Cummings Center (JCC). Students must create their TuftsTickets account before selecting and registering for their desired session (just one, please!). The deadline to register is Friday, August 29 at 12:00pm.
