DO NOT Give On Tuesday.
Give Every Day!
You have probably heard of #GivingTuesday. Started in 2012 as a counter to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday is an international day of giving that reminds us to be charitable in our community during this season of generosity.
It sounds like a great idea, but do you want to know a secret?
For small non-profits like Keep Cincinnati Beautiful, #GivingTuesday can actually end up costing more in resources than what is raised through donations. By encouraging everyone to donate on the same day, YOU get bombarded with solicitations, and we get our message muffled. #GivingTuesday is primarily a social media activity, which means Facebook tends to be the biggest beneficiary. They process your donations and collect your information. Organizations like Keep Cincinnati Beautiful don’t receive your contact info, so we can’t follow up and let you know the impact your gift had.
This Holiday season, do not give on #GivingTuesday, instead become a Friend of KCB by making an easy sustaining gift. Friends of KCB is made up of monthly supporters, big and small, all making a difference. Whether you choose to give $5 or $500 a month, we want you to be part of the change. By becoming a monthly donor you are giving Keep Cincinnati Beautiful the stability to provide resources to communities year-round, not just on Tuesdays.
P.S.- We greatly appreciate ALL gifts, if you want to make a one-time donation select “One Time” on the donation page.
